The Student Matinee Program provides school groups with a unique package of opportunities and resources designed to engage, educate, and entertain. Teachers working at all instructional levels have a variety of production options to choose from every season. With Round House Theatre's artists and educators, school groups are able to actively explore the power of live theatre.
Uncomplicated Booking
- Teachers and students are provided the opportunity to experience live theatre at a convenient weekday time-10a.m.
- Groups receive one free adult chaperone ticket for every ten student tickets purchased.
- Subsidized tickets are available on a sliding-scale basis for public school classrooms.
Unique Opportunities
- Interactive workshops explore the creative process of bringing literary works to life on-stage; designed specifically for the classroom and in conjunction with English/Language Arts Content Standards. Students and teachers participate in an in-school workshop before and after attending the performance.
- Study Guides supply additional information about the play and artistry involved in bring it to life on-stage and include supplemental activities teachers can implement with students in the classroom.
- Facilitated post-show discussions held immediately following each matinee performance.

Registration
To register for the Student Matinee Program, contact the Round House Theatre Education Center at 301.585.1225 or click here to download registration form.
Registration forms may be faxed (301.585.9696) or mailed to Round House Theatre Education Center (925 Wayne Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910). Registrations are filled on a first-come, first-served basis; groups are limited to 100 tickets.
Registrations will be confirmed by phone and email by the Round House Theatre Education Center after they are received. Registrations are not final until they have been confirmed.
