The Heyday Players senior theatre program is dedicated to enriching the lives of senior citizens by channeling their tremendous spirit, talent, and life experience into theatrical performance and community engagement.
Performance Troupe
The Heyday Players performance troupe is composed entirely of older adult volunteers who participate in the selection, direction, rehearsal, and staged-reading performance of theatrical work at senior gatherings, community centers, public libraries, and elementary schools in Montgomery County and the greater-DC area. The troupe is dedicated to theatre that explores the humor and drama of the human condition across age and time periods. The Heyday Players troupe rehearses on Tuesday mornings September - May and performs at various times throughout the week.

Performance Residency
The Heyday Players Performance Residency is a series of workshops offered on-site at senior and community centers designed to immerse senior citizens and older adult participants in an intensive rehearsal and staged-reading performance process. Focusing on script analysis and incorporating physical and vocal characterization techniques, the residency provides participants a deeper understanding and appreciation of theatrical text and performance. Residencies are conducted by Round House Theatre professional teaching artists, assisted by a member of the Heyday Players performance troupe. The residency culminates in a staged reading performed by the participants on-site for friends, family, and community members. Residencies may include attending a Round House Theatre production.
